Ich muss es einfach zugeben: Ich spiele unheimlich gerne Guitar Hero III. Da ich aber auch gerne mit Windows Mobile arbeite ist es doch einfach nur logisch, daß man beides kombinieren sollte, oder?  Und so kommt mir Guitar Hero III Mobile sehr gelegen. So sind zwar "nur" 15 Songs aus Guitar Hero III vorhanden, jedoch reicht dies völlig aus. Weitere sollen aber noch folgen.

I have to admit: One of my favourite games is Guitar Hero III. As I love working with Windows Mobile as well, why not combining both? That's how Guitar Hero III Mobile was created. It includes "only" 15 Songs from Guitar Hero III, but this is sufficient. More songs are to come.

Wie ist es möglich, die Versionsnummer von Windows Mobile zu ermitteln? Eigentlich erhält man doch nur die unterliegende Windows CE Version.
Des Rätsels Lösung ist die Versionsnummer des Adoption Kit Update (AKU), welches vergleichbar mit der eines Service Packs unter Windows ist.

How is it possible to retrieve Windows Mobiles version number? In general you only get the underlying version number of Windows CE.
The version number can be retrieved through the version number of the included Adoption Kit Update (AKU), which is kind of similar to Service Packs under Windows.

Okay, the news isn't the freshest, but still not everyone has heard about it: Windows Mobile 6.1 is out since April 1st.

Leider komme ich jetzt dazu, dieses freudige Ereignis zu bloggen, da ich letzte Woche mich in England befand.

Dienstag war somit ein Tag voller Freude, denn ich wurde von Microsoft mit dem Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) Award für Device Application Development ausgezeichnet. Dies gibt neue Kraft in diesem Bereich weiter zu arbeiten und zeigt, dass ich auf dem richtigen Weg bin.

Unfortunatelly I come now to blog about this joyfull occasion, as I've been in England last week.
So Tuesday was a day full of joy, as I have been awarded with the Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) Award for Device Application Development. This gives me fresh power and shows that I'm on the right path.

Christopher Fairbairn zeigt in seinem Blog, wie mit ein wenig Hilfe Elemente für den Heute-Bildschirm in C# und VB.NET erstellt werden können. Christopher Fairbairn describes in his blog, how with a little help today screen items can be created directly in C# and VB.NET. Normally this is only possible in native code. But CHristopher has created a little library for this. A sample is also available on his site.

Wie Chris Tacke von OpenNETCF.org berichtet, wurde das Smart Device Framework (SDF) 2.2 veröffentlicht. Neben vielen Bugfixes sind auch einige neue Klassen und Methoden enthalten. So lassen sich nun Dienste über die Klasse Service Laden, Starten, Beenden und wieder entladen.

Chris Tacke from OpenNETCF.org announces, that the Smart Device Framework (SDF) 2.2 is released. Along many bugfixes also new clases and methods can be found within the SDF. WIthe the Service class for example it is now possible to load, start, stop and unload services.
